Good when it actually worksJan 06, 2008

this adapter constantly does not connect correctly with the iphone. Sound will come out of only one speaker because of the connection problems. In order to get it to work right, you have to fiddle with it for fifteen min bending the adapter till it works. I would not recommend this adapter, choose another one.
Perfect ProductSep 13, 2011
By Boy Perfect product for my Iphone to be used as cassette player in my car. Easy to use and hook up.
WTF?Sep 12, 2010
By G. Hook The female side of this adapter is too small, I had to ram my headphone male end into it really hard to finally get it seated.
Then, the sound cuts in & out.
I tried this with multiple 3.5mm male ends and it was necessary on all of them to press down into the adapter very hard before they would fully seat themselves into it.
The item is also very long (almost 2 inches) and flexes quite a bit in the middle (No doubt a thought that if you drop it, they should make this long thing bend a little). Not well designed AT ALL.
Spend your money on something else. This one is a NO-WIN.
Does the trick!Sep 09, 2010
By H. A. Harris Bought this for my 2G iPhone so I could plug in a few non-Apple headphones and stereo hookups. Works great. No issues. The adapter is all plastic on the outside. This protects the wires. The plastic is quite flexible, but doesn't feel cheap.

A perfect blend of bad design, cheap construction, and poor serviceJan 20, 2010

Oh, this one is great.
Bad design - about 3x longer than it needs to be, so it's bulky and hard to carry, and gets in the way of everything. It's like having a 1980's-era brick-phone antenna on your iPhone. I mean, really, who thought this was a good idea, and are they just incompetent or actively malicious?
Inferior, cheap construction - both of mine broke after 2-3 months of use, and I'm pretty darn careful with my stuff.
Poor, poor customer sevice - want a warranty replacement? Good luck. Belkin doesn't recognize this as one of their part numbers, so both the online form and customer service are befuddled by it and can't enter an RMA request. You're out of luck despite the promise of a "lifetime warranty". (I spent 2+ hours trying and finally gave up.)
Really, buy any other brand besides Belkin. Or follow the instructions in another comment and make your own recessed plug.
